ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a non-management position supporting lead teachers and classroom operations across classrooms as coverage needs require. Teacher Assistants are expected to follow established processes, communicate professionally with supervisors, and contribute to a stable, cooperative team environment.
This role requires adaptability. In a small school setting, classroom assignments, schedules, and coverage needs may shift day to day. Candidates must be comfortable supporting multiple classrooms and working with changing plans.
Being ready to work at your scheduled start time is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist lead teachers with daily classroom routines and transitions
Support children with toileting, handwashing, meals, and self-care
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom environment
Provide calm, consistent guidance to children
Support coverage needs across classrooms as directed by supervisors
Uphold school policies and operational procedures
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
PRIOR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE working with children in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting (required; candidates without this experience will not be considered)
Strong punctuality and attendance reliability
Ability to take direction and follow established processes
Willingness to learn Montessori practices on the job
Must pass a Washington State background check
Willingness to complete a brief screening assessment prior to interview
STRONGLY PREFERRED
Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English
Experience working in multilingual, multicultural, or international environments
Experience working in or with East Asian workplace cultures
Comfort with indirect communication styles
Experience on small teams
CPR/First Aid certification
Washington State food handler's permit
JOB DETAILS
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Includes one hour unpaid lunch break (8 hours worked per day)
Up to 40 hours per week
Pay: $22.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience
