Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Painter to join our dynamic property management team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing apartment units for new residents. This role is responsible for completing unit turnovers efficiently and to company standards, ensuring apartments are clean, functional, and move-in ready on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Painting (touch-ups and full repaints as needed)
- Drywall patching and minor carpentry
- Replacing fixtures, blinds, locks, hardware, and light bulbs
- Basic plumbing repairs (leaky faucets, toilet repairs)
- Basic electrical work (outlets, switches, light fixtures)
- Remove trash and abandoned items from vacated units
- Conduct unit inspections to identify maintenance or safety issues
- Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and company standards
- Communicate repair needs and supply requirements to management
- Follow turnover schedules to meet leasing deadlines
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with common-area or preventative maintenance as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or construction site painting with a strong understanding of various surface types and coatings
- Familiarity with hand tools such as caulking guns, putty knives, scrapers, brushes, rollers, and power tools including drills and sanders
- Ability to perform plastering, stucco application, masonry work, concrete finishing, framing carpentry, and fixture installation is highly desirable
- Experience with renovation projects involving remodeling or restoration work is a plus
- Construction site experience demonstrating safety awareness and ability to work efficiently in dynamic environments
- Skills in color theory for selecting appropriate finishes and achieving desired aesthetic effects
- Maintenance Person experience including maintenance tasks such as drywall repair or minor carpentry repairs enhances versatility
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and project managers
