Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement & Design Development:
- Cultivate strong relationships with high-end residential clients, understanding their needs, preferences, and translating them into unique design concepts.
- Develop comprehensive design packages, including detailed planting plans, hardscape plans, section drawings, elevation, and captivating perspective drawings.
- Present design proposals with confidence and clarity, effectively communicating the vision and benefits of the proposed landscape to clients.
- Apply extensive knowledge of plant materials, including identification and best landscape uses for specific varieties, ensuring aesthetic and plant success.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of outdoor construction techniques (grading, drainage, retaining walls, pavers, concrete, steps, pergolas, pavilions, irrigation, and turf) to inform practical and buildable designs.
- Create detailed take-offs for all drawings and contribute to the development of accurate estimates within our system, supporting the sales and project management process.
- Utilize advanced computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software to produce high-quality 2D plans and 3D perspective drawings efficiently.
- Leverage Photoshop skills to create enhanced client presentations and visualize design concepts vividly, as required.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, vendors, and subcontractors, fostering strong working relationships and ensuring seamless project execution.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in a similar Landscape Designer/Architect role, with a strong focus on high-end residential projects.
- Proven portfolio showcasing a diverse range of successful landscape designs and compelling presentations.
- Exceptional plant material knowledge, encompassing identification and application in various landscape contexts.
- Thorough understanding of outdoor construction principles and materials.
- Advanced proficiency in landscape design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Structure Studios VIP3D, VIP3D, Dynascape) and Adobe Photoshop.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field preferred.
