We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Floriculture/Gardener to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in creating and maintaining beautiful landscape displays. Employees report daily to our shop in Trussville and work at a variety of customer locations throughout the Birmingham metropolitan area and surrounding communities.

Responsibilities

• Plant, maintain, and care for seasonal flowers, annuals, perennials, shrubs, and ornamental plants.
• Install and maintain flower beds, landscape enhancements, and decorative containers.
• Water, fertilize, prune, deadhead, mulch, and weed landscaped areas.
• Identify and report plant health concerns, pests, and diseases.
• Load, unload, and transport plants, materials, and equipment.
• Operate landscaping tools and equipment safely.
• Maintain clean, professional job sites and provide quality service to customers.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Drive company vehicles to and from job sites as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license required.
• Clean driving history and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
• Reliable transportation to report daily to our Trussville shop.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Landscaping, gardening, horticulture, or floriculture experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
• Ability to safely use landscaping equipment and tools.

Work Conditions

• Daily reporting location is at our shop in Trussville, Alabama.
• Work is performed at multiple customer locations throughout Birmingham and surrounding areas.
• Daily travel between job sites is required.
• Occasional out-of-town travel within Alabama may be required based on project needs.
• Overnight travel is generally not required, and employees typically return home each day.
• Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight.
• Exposure to dirt, dust, pollen, insects, fertilizers, and other landscaping materials is common.
• Overtime may be available during peak seasonal periods.

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
