Job Overview

Responsibilities
- Review plans, general conditions, schedules, scopes of work, site logistics and other exhibits
- Prepare organized and complete takeoffs
- Request and obtain quotes for all scope from multiple vendors and sub-contractors
- Enters takeoff information and quotes into computer estimating system
- Analyze alternate means and methods to determine value engineering suggestions
- Draft proposal documents
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of experience within the construction-estimating field or equivalent field experience
- Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings
- Knowledge of plant and irrigation material, costs, and nursery sourcing
- Ability to gather, calculate, and compile take off data for bid use
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficient with On Center Software’s On-Screen Takeoff (OST)
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Desired Qualifications:
- A construction management background or higher education is a bonus.
- A successful estimating track record of winning public works is a bonus.
- A successful track record of estimating and selling private residential estates is a bonus.
Reports to Valencia Corp office, during on-boarding. A hybrid work schedule is available after.
Work Hours:
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST
Travel Expectations:
Up to 14 days spread across 4 times a year.
Pay: $17.00 - $35.00 per hour
