Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Construction Estimator, located in Southern California. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing proposals' cost estimates, day-to-day tasks include analyzing project plans and specifications, collaborating with project managers and vendors, and preparing accurate and competitive bids. The role involves communicating with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and clarifications during the bid process.
Key Responsibilities
- Support public works proposals and completion of bid packages
- Review and interpret civil plans, profiles, drainage drawings, contour maps and grading plans
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
- Maintain accurate itemized pricing and up-to-date subcontractor pricing databases
- Review bid specifications, and contract requirements
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to work under tight deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering
- Proficiency in Construction Estimating and Quantity Take-offs
- Strong skills in Cost Management and Budgeting
- Experience working with a contractor on public works or general public projects
- Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in job-related software, such as estimating software and Microsoft Excel
