What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operators position at Landon Rice?
Workers will operate and maintain large agricultural equipment used in the planting, care, and harvesting of crops such as wheat, soybeans, canola, and barley. Responsibilities include field preparation, seed planting using air drills or planters, crop monitoring, and applying crop inputs as directed. During harvest, workers will operate combines, grain carts, and related equipment to ensure timely collection and transport of crops to on-farm storage or designated delivery points. Routine equipment maintenance is required, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic servicing to support safe and efficient operation. Additional tasks include general farm labor such as rock picking, fencing, and maintaining field perimeters. Workers must follow instructions, adhere to safety procedures, and work both independently and in coordination with others. The job requires adaptability to changing weather and seasonal demands, including extended hours during peak planting and harvest periods. Exposure to modern farming practices and equipment technology is beneficial but not essential. Workers may also assist with upkeep of farm buildings and work areas to ensure a clean and organized environment. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
