We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing (must be a Registered Nurse, RN) to lead our nursing team with passion, precision, and purpose. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of nursing services across assisted living, nursing home, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive care plans tailored to each resident’s unique needs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations including Medicare and HIPAA standards.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct caregivers, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on excellence in resident care.
- Oversee the management of medical records, documentation review, and electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with legal requirements.
- Coordinate shift management to ensure adequate staffing levels while optimizing operational efficiency; handle scheduling and resource allocation effectively.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation to uphold high standards of quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Lead efforts in staff training on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, HIPAA regulations, EMR/EHR systems usage, and best practices in nursing administration.
- Oversee the development and review of care plans to ensure they meet residents’ evolving needs while aligning with Medicare guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes through innovative care strategies and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies or hospice care environments with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Extensive background in nursing management or supervision roles within acute care or long-term care settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and documentation standards related to nursing practice.
- Hands-on experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) management is essential.
- Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and Medicare regulations is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively through supervising experience in nurse management or nursing administration roles.
