What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Landis Homes?
Assists in carrying out the daily operations of the Finance Department. Supervises staff accounting, payroll, accounts payable, cash receipts and staff accounting functions. Additionally serves as back-up to these positions. Supervises the monthly monitoring of capital purchases, disposals, reconciliation of g/l account balances, and preparation of Plant Ledger annually. Assists with the preparation of various financial reports and graphs, budgets, year-end reports, cost reports, tax returns, and special projects.
- Supports the Controller in the daily operations of the finance department and financial services provided throughout Landis Communities.
- Supervises the monitoring of capital purchases, disposals, depreciation and fixed asset tracking processes, including preparation of plant ledger annually.
- Supervises payroll, accounts payable, cash receipts and staff accounting functions and serves as backup to these jobs.
- Serves as a liaison with Paycom. Troubleshoots issues, reviews payroll data and provides oversight to payroll processing including tax filings, W2 review, PBJ coding, earnings and deduction codes, etc.
- Reviews and assists in the preparation of the annual budgets including combining budget files as they are completed, distributing annual budgets by month, and loading budgets into financial system.
- Responsible for monthly closing tasks, such as intercompany labor billing, payroll and workers compensation entries, accruals/prepaids, and monitoring and releasing temp restricted funds.
- Assists in report writing as needed.
- Reviews and assists in the preparation of schedules and work papers for year-end audit, annual cost report, annual Workers Compensation audit, and other tax filings.
- Generates ad hoc analyses and reports as requested by the Accounting Manager, Controller, or VP of Finance in support of special projects.
- Promotes and ensures procedures that maintain confidentiality of financial information for Landis Communities and its entities as well as residents, tenants, and clients.
- Responsible for quarterly PBJ reporting to CMS.
- Understands and models the Honoring Lives principles in leadership, relationships and customer service.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
- Minimum 3 years' work experience in accounting/business required.
- Basic knowledge of general ledger and accounting principles and practices required.
- Able to work independently, well-organized, and can multi-task.
- Experience in senior living industry preferred.
- Proficient in use of computer and related technology required for the role.
- Good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills required.
