The role involves working on fund accounting and reporting from their Charlotte office with a hybrid work arrangement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform fund and investment-level tie-outs, coordinate with administrators, and review their books and records.
- Review waterfall models, investor allocation schedules, and partner capital account statements.
- Prepare quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules, and review annual audited financial statements.
- Prepare files for investor and consultant reporting, due diligence inquiries, and ad-hoc investor requests.
- Assist with oversight of property-level reporting and inquiries, including audits and lender covenant reporting.
- Calculate investor and investment performance, analyze cash flows, and facilitate internal and external reporting.
- Assist in processing and payment of fund and property expenses, and coordinate with invoice owners.
- Prepare capital calls and distributions, including all supporting reconciliations.
- Support internal departments and work closely with outside vendors for timely reporting.
- Assist with interim and year-end audits of funds and their underlying investments.
- Work on quarterly expense accruals and historical expense analysis.
- An undergraduate degree in accounting is required; a CPA license is preferred but not required.
- 2-5 years of professional experience in asset management and/or public accounting with asset management industry clients.
- Strong understanding of fund and/or real estate property accounting is required.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.
