Position Summary
Operate spray equipment and machinery in the application of various fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides. Inspecting, locating, and identifying weak or invasive plants to determine and implement appropriate eradication and control measures. Ensuring the safe application of all weed control measures.
Position Duties
Responsible for managing all pesticides, chemicals & fertilizers that are used for applications.
Accurate identification of weeds, pests, insects, and various plant diseases.
Inventory all chemicals needed for applications.
Apply pesticides as needed in accordance with prescribed use and within accepted industry practices, and rules and requirements of various Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies.
Prepare and mix chemical agents used in the trade; prepares work area prior to the beginning job and cleans area after completion of the job.
Ensure the safe and appropriate use of various chemical agents and substances, mixing such according to label instructions and product specifications, and using in accordance with prescribed safety precautions and directions.
Accurately keep records of all applications.
Position Requirements
Two (2) years of chemical applications experience.
Possession of a current Pesticide Applicator License and Certification.
Ability to understand and accurately interpret all labels of chemicals used (e.g. pesticides, fertilizers, and growth regulators).
Must be well versed in all chemicals needed for the successful management of weeds, pests, and fungus.
Bi-lingual preferred but not required.
Valid driver’s license.
Must be energetic, self-motivated, and thoroughly organized
Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
