The Grounds & Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the campground grounds and facilities. This position ensures that all areas of the property are well-kept, operational, and welcoming for residents and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on campground facilities, including buildings, restrooms, laundry rooms, and recreation areas.
- Mow, trim, edge, and water lawns; prune trees and shrubs; and maintain landscaped areas.
- Maintain roads, parking areas, campsites, and common areas to ensure cleanliness and accessibility.
- Perform basic repairs such as plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry as needed.
- Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
- Assist with setup and teardown for community events or maintenance projects.
- Monitor campground utilities (water, propane, electrical systems) and report any issues promptly.
- Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
- Provide friendly and courteous assistance to campground residents and guests when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or facility maintenance preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to safely operate lawn and maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, power tools, etc.).
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform manual labor.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license required.
