For One Man Robotic Station Technician
Join Land Mapping Inc. as a Land Survey Crew Chief and play a pivotal role in our land surveying operations.
About the Position:
As a Survey Crew Chief, you will travel from your home directly to projects using an assigned company vehicle (no stop at the office necessary) to projects assigned to you. Perform the field work portion of the survey for plot plans, property line stakeouts, as-built, elevation certificates, existing condition plans, topo, etc. You will be responsible for determining client and employer needs, and maintaining strong communication between the field and the office as well as our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be self-motivated to work alone with little supervision.
- Perform the field work portion of the survey for plot plans, property line stakeouts, as-built, elevation certificates, existing condition plans, topo, etc.
- Operate and maintain a range of surveying equipment, including GPS, Robotic total stations, levels, and data collectors.
- Ensure the accuracy and precision of collected survey data.
- Prepare and review field notes, sketches, and reports.
- Coordinate with project managers and clients to meet project requirements.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying with a focus on field work and progressively responsible roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating various survey instruments and software, such as Robotic total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
- Solid understanding of survey principles, methods, and techniques.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) experience is not required but is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
