Summary
The Scrum Master is a critical role responsible for facilitating and optimizing our hour-based Agile framework, bridging the gap between traditional project management and adaptive, iterative development. This role is essential in transforming our development process, improving team efficiency, and delivering predictable, high-quality software increments.
Primary Responsibilities
Agile Ceremony Leadership
- Facilitate all four meetings with precision and purpose
- Conduct weekly sprint planning, review, and retrospective sessions
- Ensure meetings are time-boxed and productive, with clear outcomes
- Manage sprint planning calls involving infrastructure, product, and all team members
Team Performance and Optimization
- Remove impediments within 24 hours of identification
- Track and report critical metrics: Velocity, Capacity utilization, Cycle time, and Estimation accuracy
- Coach the team on adoption and continuous improvement
- Ensure stories are consistently broken down to =20 hours
- Implement quality gates to guarantee story completion and testing before release
Process Improvement
- Identify and address Agile implementation challenges
- Guide the team from traditional waterfall to a streamlined Agile approach
- Facilitate story sizing and estimation processes
- Implement team-based estimation techniques
- Ensure clear story acceptance criteria and pass/fail definitions
Collaboration and Communication
- Serve as a shield, protecting the team from external disruptions during sprints
- Bridge communication between development, product, and business teams
- Facilitate effective retrospectives with comprehensive business insights
- Support business validation workflows
- Assist in correlating development efforts with business impact
Technical Integration Support
- Help manage environment synchronization across dev, QA, and UAT
- Support CI/CD process improvements
- Assist in tracking technical debt and 'sev work'
- Facilitate smooth code management and testing processes
Requirements
- 3-5 years of Agile coaching or Scrum Master experience
- Proven track record of implementing Agile methodologies
- Strong understanding of hour-based estimation techniques
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills, Multi-linqual required (Spanish / English)
- Experience with project management tools (Jira, Google Sheets)
- Technical background preferred, with understanding of software development processes

Compensation: $89,000 - $120,000, Full-time
The actual pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, and geographical location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
