We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming, machine operation, and precision measurement. Duties
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines including CNC lathes and milling machines (Fanuc controls preferred).
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to tooling or machine operation.
- Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations; adjust tools as needed for optimal performance.
- Utilize CAD software such as SolidWorks and general CAM programming for creating or modifying machining programs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety guidelines; operate hand tools and power tools safely.
- Assist with assembly processes or welding when required; support lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment when applicable.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation with Fanuc controls or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings.
- Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and CAM programming software.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, and welding techniques is a plus.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, and fixture setup.
- Familiarity with basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations in manufacturing processes.
- Experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes; familiarity with Fanuc controls is preferred.
- Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, forklifts (if certified), and other manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
