Job Title: Assembler
Location: 1000 Technology Dr, West Columbia, SC 29170
Duration: 3 Months (Possible contract to hire)
Pay rate: $18/hour on W2Shift Timing: 07:00 AM – 03:30 PM
Position Summary: The Assembler is responsible for performing complex electronic and mechanical assembly operations, inspections, testing, and repair activities on assemblies and subassemblies in a manufacturing environment. This role requires the ability to interpret moderately complex work instructions, perform quality inspections, troubleshoot assembly issues, and complete tasks with limited supervision while ensuring adherence to production and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Read and interpret work orders, assembly drawings, schematics, production documents, and work instructions.
· Assemble electronic and mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to specifications.
· Position, align, secure, and install components using various assembly techniques including crimping, staking, riveting, soldering, press-fitting, and fastening.
· Install and integrate multi-level subassemblies, modules, racks, and system components.
· Perform soldering, touch-up, removal, placement, and rework activities as required.
· Conduct in-process inspections, go/no-go testing, and quality checks to verify compliance with manufacturing standards.
· Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials, defects, and process deviations.
· Collect and record production and quality data using shop floor control systems and SPC charts.
· Set up workstations with the appropriate documentation, tools, and materials.
· Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of assemblies and components.
· Assist with preventive maintenance activities on production equipment.
· Ensure proper handling and installation of polarized and non-polarized electronic components.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on quality and process enhancements.
· Assist in training and supporting new operators as needed.
· Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Education
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
· Successful completion of company-provided training programs as required.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of electronic assembly, manufacturing, or related experience.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
· Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret moderately complex assembly instructions and engineering documentation.
· Experience working with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and assembly equipment.
· Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing systems.
· Ability to use microscopes and inspection equipment when required.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Excellent eye-hand coordination and visual inspection skills.
· Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to analyze problems and exercise independent judgment within established procedures.

· Performs work with limited supervision.
· Receives instructions on new and complex assignments and completes tasks independently.

Physical Requirements
Ability to sit/stand/bend for extended periods and perform repetitive hand motions.
