π Overview:
The Administrative Construction Manager β OSP plays a vital role in overseeing Outside Plant (OSP) construction activities performed by external contractors. This role ensures that all work aligns with engineering designs, quality standards, budget constraints, and safety protocols.
Youβll collaborate closely with municipalities, utility providers, and internal departments to ensure all construction activities within the Right-of-Way (ROW) or easements comply with local, state, and company requirements.
This role requires both field and administrative oversight, ensuring each project moves seamlessly from planning through completion.
π§ Key Responsibilities:
πΉ Supervise contractor-led OSP construction projects to ensure alignment with design, quality, and safety standards
πΉ Oversee project schedules and ensure timely completion of deliverables
πΉ Review and manage Work Zone Protection (WZP) and Traffic Control Plans (TCP)
πΉ Conduct pre- and post-construction inspections to verify standards and compliance
πΉ Support material planning and inventory management for ongoing builds
πΉ Participate in pre-construction and JIM (Joint Interface Meetings) as required
πΉ Maintain accurate and up-to-date construction documentation, including as-builts
πΉ Monitor and validate project costs, invoicing, and timesheet approvals
πΉ Track plant damages and ensure corrective action and reporting
πΉ Collaborate with internal stakeholders β Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Regulatory, and Logistics β to ensure project success
π§° Required Qualifications & Skills:
β Minimum 5 years of combined Outside Plant construction and splicing experience
β Deep understanding of OSP construction standards, practices, and safety regulations
β Proficiency with OSP unit descriptions and SSP contracts
β Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
β Ability to interpret engineering drawings and ensure construction accuracy
β Experienced in coordinating with state/local authorities and utilities
β Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
β Comfortable with extended driving and occasional overnight travel
β Able to lift/carry moderately heavy materials as needed
β Flexible to work overtime, on-call shifts, nights, or weekends per project demand
β Valid Driverβs License required
