Job Summary

  • The People Services Specialist is accountable for delivering intake and escalated-tier HR guidance and solutions to People Leaders and employees.
  • This role partners and collaborates closely with all People Team Centers of Excellence (COEs) on matters requiring specialized expertise. Success in this role requires both tactical proficiency and excellent execution in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that ensures continuity of service.
  • The focus of this position is delivering People Services with a strong commitment to internal customer service, quality, and ongoing process improvement.
  • This role also manages services specific to the region, requiring hands-on engagement to understand and address localized HR needs.
  • This includes staying attuned to local legal requirements, workforce dynamics, and organizational culture in order to tailor HR solutions accordingly.
  • This position is based onsite in Boise, Idaho, five days per week, Monday through Friday. Standard business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time, unless otherwise specified by leadership or business need.
  • Given the collaborative, cross-functional nature of this role, occasional participation in meetings outside of standard business hours (including early morning or evening) may be required to coordinate with People Team Centers of Excellence, business stakeholders, and partners in other time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Triage incoming People Service Center tickets and emails; research and resolve requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Deliver day-to-day, hands-on support across the People Team spectrum, including onboarding, HR policy, total rewards, HR systems questions, and cyclical People initiatives and programs.
  • Handle all aspects of the onboarding process, including the preparation and retrieval of necessary documents for new hires.
  • Serve as a foundational subject matter expert across HR and related functions supported by shared services (e.g., payroll, equity, benefits).
  • Maintain the data accuracy and integrity of various People systems and tools.
  • Ensure HR processes, policies, and tools are applied consistently in support of business goals.
  • Analyze requests and escalate issues to the appropriate People Team workgroups when the Service Center is unable to resolve them; serve as a liaison with People Team COEs to ensure case resolution.
  • Create and maintain both physical and electronic employee records, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date, and secure.
  • Own the prehire process, including initiating required background checks and managing the prehire tracking tool to ensure data accuracy and team readiness for the arrival of new hires.
  • Facilitate day-one orientation for new hires, partnering closely with local leadership and various departments to deliver a best-in-class first-day experience.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with People Team Centers of Excellence, business partners, and leadership; occasionally attend meetings outside standard business hours to accommodate partners across time zones.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 2 years of active HR experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HR systems and tools (e.g., HRIS/SAP/Workday/ServiceNow) and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team, including flexibility to attend occasional meetings outside standard business hours.
  • Willingness and ability to work onsite in Boise, Idaho, five days per week.
