Health Information Manager (HIM)
Location: Tulsa, OK (Yale Campus)
Job Type: Full-Time | Day Shift (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM)
We are seeking an experienced Health Information Manager (HIM) to lead Health Information Management operations for a large acute care hospital. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing medical records, regulatory compliance, EHR processes, release of information, documentation integrity, and departmental staff while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, and other healthcare regulations.
- Oversee daily Health Information Management (HIM) operations across multiple locations.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of patient medical records.
- Manage release of information, legal medical records, subpoenas, and documentation requests.
- Lead EHR workflow optimization, medical record integrity, and process improvement initiatives.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop HIM staff, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management.
- Monitor departmental productivity, turnaround times, and quality metrics.
- Collaborate with physicians, IT, and clinical departments to improve documentation and workflow efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, and state/federal regulations.
- Prepare departmental reports, analyze trends, and implement operational improvements.
- Manage departmental budgets, resources, and staffing requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience as a Supervisor, Manager, or Director in Health Information Management.
- Prior experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
- Strong knowledge of EHR systems, HIM operations, medical record management, documentation compliance, and release of information.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, and healthcare regulatory standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
