Lancaster Swine Health Services is a veterinary consulting business specializing in veterinary care and consultation for commercial swine and poultry producers. We have been in business for 20 years and have four full time veterinarians and four full time office staff overseeing and improving the health of over one million animals annually across Pennsylvania and the eastern US. We pride ourselves on being a one-stop shop for farms' health and production needs providing professional guidance on health care, disease prevention, management and production practices and the vaccines, medications, and products they need to accomplish their goals.

Overview

We have a small team of dedicated, enthusiastic office staff managing the daily operations of our practice. Our business is growing, and we are looking to add a team member who fits in well with our company culture and is motivated and excited by the opportunity to grow with our business. We pride ourselves on providing jobs that allow time for family life. No evenings or weekends; paid time off on major holidays.

Full time Monday – Friday, 8am to 4pm.

**As an ambulatory veterinary practice, most of our veterinary work is performed on-farm. Animal contact/care are a minimal part of the position.**

Position Description/Primary Responsibilities

· Primary Responsibilities:

o Gather products and pack orders for shipping via UPS

o Invoice orders and create shipping labels

o Unpack incoming orders from UPS, FedEx, Amazon, Staples, Uline, etc.

o Inventory management

o Assemble testing kits

o Light cleaning and organization of the warehouse

· Secondary Responsibilities:

o Assist veterinary assistant with preparing vet supplies

o Support veterinary staff as needed

o Assist office staff as needed

o Answer phones

· Work environment is a climate-controlled warehouse with some seasonal temperature variation; it is never below freezing; conditions are manageable and appropriate for the work being performed.

Qualifications

· College degree is not required for this position, but certain skills are essential. Successful applicants should have working knowledge of computers with reasonable familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

· Our business uses Quickbooks for shipping and accounting purposes; experience with this program is not required but is a bonus.

· Ability to work on your feet and to lift and carry moderate loads (<50lbs) is required.

· Familiarity with veterinary medicine, pig and poultry farming, or agriculture generally are not required- in fact, most of our employees developed our knowledge on the job- but applicants with some general knowledge will develop more quickly.

· Above all, applicants must have great people skills to excel at customer service and integrate well into our small team. We need employees who are friendly, reliable, able to multitask, willing to learn, and eager to work together on a small team.

Compensation

Position starts at $18-20/hour. Paid vacation and Company 401k plan after 12 months of full-time employment. Salary will grow commensurate with performance, responsibility, and years of service. We offer opportunities for employees to complete additional training and professional development.
