What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant ECE Teacher position at Lancaster Recreation Commission?
Qualifications: A High School Diploma or General Educational Development Certificate, 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, and 2 years of work experience related to the care and development of Infants/Toddlers and prior experience in the supervision of children or a High School Diploma or General Educational Development Certificate, 3 years of work experience related to the care and development of children, and prior experience in supervision of children.
We are currently offering a $1000 sign-on bonus upon the successful completion of your 90-day probation period
Examples of Work:
- Prepares and maintains indoor and outdoor areas according to the day’s activities and meals.
- Assists in preparation and facilitation of daily projects and activities.
- Provides input into development of weekly themes
- Demonstrates and communicates a genuine fondness for each child.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude in the job role and enjoys working with children in a group setting.
- Helps children develop independence as appropriate for each child.
- Administers discipline in a manner which does not demean, embarrass or humiliate the child.
- Recognizes that discipline must be appropriate according to the individual child and the infraction.
- Maintains an open friendly and cooperative relationship with parents.
- Communicates with parents on a regular basis and provides a supportive environment for the child and family.
- Observes strict confidentiality regarding children and families.
- Works cooperatively with other staff members, and helps promote a positive atmosphere.
- Assists in completion of daily paperwork.
- Assists in room maintenance.
- Recognizes the importance of and participates in meetings and trainings as requested.
