Position Summary
The Maintenance Assistant (Tech) is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the facility, grounds, and equipment remain safe, functional, and compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance request slips and submits to supervisor.
- Participate in meetings and adhere to policies.
- Provide general maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
- Perform groundskeeping tasks.
- Replace light bulbs and assist with preventative maintenance.
- Move furniture and assist with terminal cleaning.
- Respond to emergencies and unscheduled repairs.
- Attend mandatory training and follow safety procedures.
- Use equipment safely and report defects.
- Interact professionally with residents, staff, and visitors.
Working Conditions
Includes physical activity, exposure risks, and interaction with residents.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Maintenance apprenticeship is desirable.
- Long-term care experience preferred.
- Skills in basic repair trades required.
