Job Summary
ITS House staff work independently and as part of a treatment team to support Developmental Services clients also experiencing a psychiatric crisis. Staff help clients maintain their safety using a variety of skills including the following: crisis intervention, supportive counseling, medication monitoring, observation and assessment, assistance with ADL’s, coordination of treatment, maintaining a safe and clean unit, and completion of all related documentation.

Essential Functions
- Assess referrals and coordinate intakes and discharges following ITS House procedures.
- Coordinate the documentation of medications with the agency medical director and program nurse.
- Provide supportive counseling to individuals in all stages of mental health crisis, covering a wide range of symptoms and behaviors.
- Assess mental status and level of care for clients on an ongoing basis, and documentation the assessment in a progress note each shift.
- Maintain a safe unit and encourage clients to adhere to ITS guidelines.
- Monitor the taking of medications by clients and complete of all related documentation.
- Support clients around coordinating treatment with agency and community resources.
- Communicate important information during a face-to-face crossover period with the staff coming on for the next shift.
- Cleaning the ITS House as needed to maintain a healthy environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be able to sit and stand for limited periods of time, drive a car, operate office equipment such as computer, copier, fax, telephone. Assist clients with ADL’s such as assist with personal care, cooking, doing laundry, and changing bedding. Clean and use cleaning equipment such as broom, mop, and vacuum. Lift up to 50 pounds.
Education/Experience
Required: High School Diploma and a minimum of 2-4 years working with adults with developmental disabilities or a mental health disorder.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and/ or a combination of education and/ or relevant experience equaling 4 years. Experience working with adults in mental health crisis.
License/Certifications
Required: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and personal vehicle with current registration, state inspection, and appropriate insurance.
Preferred: Safety training
