Summary
The Engineer supports technical valuation and strategic advisory efforts for oil and gas clients across A&D, M&A, and broader strategic alternative engagements. The role focuses on engineering-driven components of the valuation workflow, including PDP forecasting, type curve development, LOS analysis, and development planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed technical evaluations to identify performance drivers, support reserve estimates, and inform economic valuation.
- Develop and maintain engineering analyses, including PDP forecasts, type curves, LOS assessments, and development planning models.
- Generate marketing and client-deliverable materials, including pre-marketing presentations and virtual data room content using client and public datasets.
- Support mandate execution by coordinating project activities, preparing data rooms, and participating in external client meetings.
- Collaborate with finance counterparts to integrate engineering analyses into broader economic and valuation models.
- Present asset evaluations to prospective buyers and respond to technical inquiries throughout the marketing process.
- Assist in business development efforts and ad-hoc technical project work.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of reservoir engineering experience
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Spotfire, and economics tools such as Aries, PHDWin, and ComboCurve
- Solid understanding of cash flow modeling, rate of return, and economic evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to assess technical risk and contribute to high-stakes valuation efforts.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with strong relationship-building and influencing capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environments.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
