Job Overview
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class-A Truck Driver. (Forklift and Moffet experience a plus). Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual or automatic transmissions across designated routes in middle Tennessee.
- Load and unload freight using forklift and off-road piggyback forklifts ensuring cargo is secured properly in compliance with company standards. Delivering to construction sites.
- Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules efficiently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Load and unload cargo accurately, verifying shipment contents against delivery documentation.
- Adhere strictly to FMCSA, DOT, regulations during all phases of transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or safety concerns.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo handling activities, and inspection reports in accordance with regulatory standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission in various driving environments.
- Experience handling freight such as flatbed loads. Forklift experience preferred.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations is highly desirable.
- Prior delivery driving experience involving load & unload procedures and logistics cargo handling is advantageous.
- Ability to comply with safety protocols related to goods transportation and truck loading/unloading procedures.
