Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers.
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and ensure compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to verify mechanical safety and compliance with safety standards.
- Deliver freight across over-the-road (OTR) routes or local route driving assignments while maintaining a professional attitude.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to confirm delivery schedules and address any route adjustments or issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Doubles and triples endorsements is a Plus.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving.
- Ability to operate GPS navigation systems confidently for route planning and navigation.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to truck loading/unloading, dangerous goods handling, and safety standards.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service.
