Job Summary
The Medical Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the efficient operation of the medical office. This position is responsible for welcoming patients, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, managing patient check-in and check-out, scanning and maintaining electronic medical records. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality while delivering compassionate and courteous service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Answer and direct phone calls.
- Scan and upload medical records and patient documents into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Verify patient demographic and insurance information.
- Collect co-pays and process patient paperwork.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Perform general front office administrative duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a medical office, physician practice, or healthcare setting preferred. If no experience we will train you.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Ability to accurately schedule appointments, answer multi-line phones, and manage front desk operations.
- Ability to scan, upload, and maintain electronic patient records accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient information.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
