Job Summary
The Assistant Athletic Director for Corporate Sponsorships plays a key role in driving the growth and visibility of the athletics program. Reporting to the Vice President and Director of Athletics, this position leads the development of high-impact corporate partnerships that generate revenue and elevate the Cardinal brand. The role works closely with the Cardinal Athletic Fund, marketing, media relations, and ticketing to create innovative, collaborative strategies that expand the department’s reach and strengthen its connection to the community and fans.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and implement the Athletics Corporate Partnership Program strategic plan.
- Manage existing sponsorships while identifying and securing new corporate partners.
- Oversee the tracking, evaluation, and fulfillment of sponsorship agreements.
- Coordinate all special athletic events.
- Provide direct support for game day operations, including suite management and sponsorship fulfillment.
- Serve on the senior leadership team and contribute to departmental strategy.
- Act as a sport administrator for assigned programs.
- Collaborate with ticketing, marketing, fundraising, licensing, and multimedia rights.
- Ensure all activities align with the mission and vision of the Cardinal Athletic Fund and Lamar University.
- Maintain compliance with NCAA, conference, and university policies.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a field relevant to the position summary and essential job functions.
- 1-3 years progressively increasing responsibility and experience working with external corporate partnerships in college or professional sports or equivalent; master's degree preferred.
- Master's Degree and 3 years progressively increasing responsibility in external corporate partnerships in college or professional sports or equivalent.
