Description: Instructional Aide - Paraprofessional, .875 FTE
Job Summary: The IA Paraprofessional provides instructional, clerical, and supervisory support in the classroom setting under the direction of certified teachers and building administrators.
This role assists in classroom operations, student engagement, materials preparation, and non-instructional supervision to promote a well-managed, inclusive learning environment.
The paraprofessional ensures students have equitable access to instructional content, supports school-wide events and activities, and upholds district standards for safety, confidentiality, and collaboration.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree preferred.
Ohio Paraprofessional License or eligibility for certification through the Ohio Department of Education.
If funded by Title 1 must meet requirements under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA):
Associate's degree or higher, or
Minimum of 48 semester hours of college coursework, or
Successful completion of an approved paraprofessional assessment.
Successful completion of applicable training (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention as required).
Prior experience working with students or in school settings preferred.
Must have excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, Internet, and PowerPoint.
Experience operating office and media equipment.
Working Conditions: 7 hours per day, 5 days per week and 184 days per school year calendar.
Per current Lakota salary schedule starting at $18.52 per hour, based on verified experience.
