Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Optician to join our team. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys interacting with people, has an interest in eyewear, and values delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that match their prescription, daily needs, and style preferences
- Take accurate measurements such as pupillary distance (PD) and segment height to ensure proper lens fit
- Review and interpret prescriptions provided by eye doctors
- Explain lens options, coatings, and care instructions to patients
- Adjust, fit, and perform basic repairs on eyewear
- Maintain accurate patient records and support insurance-related tasks as needed
- Keep displays clean, organized, and stocked
- Stay up to date with new eyewear products and industry trends
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in optical, medical, or retail environments is a plus, but not required. Training can be provided
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge; familiarity with POS or optical systems is helpful
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on patient care
