Position Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items efficiently, consistently, and safely in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality food and maintaining the standards, cleanliness, and teamwork that define the Lakeside Social guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
- Set up and stock assigned station with all necessary supplies before service
- Maintain speed and accuracy during high-volume service periods
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and meets quality standards before leaving the kitchen
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation at all times
- Assist with prep work including chopping, portioning, and stocking ingredients
- Properly store food items and label products following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures
- Communicate clearly with kitchen team and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
- Assist with closing duties, cleaning, and kitchen reset for the next shift
- Report equipment issues, shortages, or quality concerns to management promptly
Qualifications
- Previous line cook or kitchen experience preferred (restaurant or high-volume environment a plus)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
