Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills
- Support cooking processes under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
- Prepare food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Handle food safely and hygienically in compliance with food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
- Assist with food service operations, including plating and serving when needed
- Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with setup and cleanup
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and leftovers to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and food preparation methods is advantageous
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and food safety standards is highly desirable
- Experience working in the food industry or in a kitchen setting will be considered a strong asset
- Culinary experience or background in food service roles will help candidates excel in this position
