Position Details- Job Title: Legal Operations Manager
- Salary: $120,000 – $150,000
- Location: Fully Remote (Headquarters in Denver, CO)
- Travel Requirements:
- Approximately 25% travel across multiple states (CA, NM, CO, PA, VA, FL)
- 4–6 trips annually for legal team offsites and Board of Directors meetings
This highly visible role reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer and regularly interacts with executive leadership and the Board of Directors. The Legal Operations Manager serves as a key strategic and operational partner to the legal team, ensuring seamless department operations, managing legal spend, and supporting public company governance and SEC-related activities.
This role requires exceptional judgment, discretion, and the ability to operate independently in a remote environment while managing competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities1. Legal Operations & Executive Support (30%)- Manage complex calendars, scheduling, travel coordination, and logistics for legal leadership
- Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, reports, and presentations
- Support contract management workflows, including routing, signatures, and tracking
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes for legal team members
- Maintain legal and governance calendars, deadlines, and executed agreement records
- Draft and coordinate internal communications on behalf of legal leadership
- Collaborate on annual budget planning with legal leadership, finance, and external counsel
- Manage department budget, invoice processing, reimbursements, and vendor relationships
- Perform monthly spend reconciliation and maintain budget tracking tools
- Code and route projects within financial systems (Oracle or similar)
- Analyze financial data and develop real-time dashboard reporting
- Support planning and execution of Board and committee meetings
- Prepare Board materials including agendas, resolutions, and Board books using governance platforms (e.g., Diligent)
- Coordinate timely distribution and accuracy of Board materials
- Attend meetings, assist with minutes, and track follow-ups and action items
- Maintain corporate governance records (attendance logs, resolutions, signatures)
- Administer Board portal systems (user access, troubleshooting, etc.)
- Support SEC reporting processes (e.g., 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K, proxy materials) in partnership with legal, finance, and external counsel
- Maintain governance templates and ensure proper document retention
- Assist with insider trading compliance processes and reporting workflows
- Manage Board questionnaires, evaluations, and reporting outputs
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred
- 3 years of experience supporting executive leadership and/or Board of Directors
- Experience with public company governance and SEC filing processes
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and corporate governance practices
- Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and board management software (e.g., Diligent)
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-paced environment across time zones
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to engage at the executive and board level
- Strategic thinker with sound judgment and high attention to detail
- Highly responsive, organized, and proactive
- Comfortable operating independently while supporting a distributed team
