Direct and optimize the college facilities operations, including safety, security, risk management, maintenance, repair, construction, budgeting and capital projects. Serve as a key advisor to the Executive Vice President of Administration. Ensure an exceptional customer service experience for internal and external stakeholders through responsive, professional, and solutions-focused interactions

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other Duties May Be Assigned)
(80%) Facilities Operations and Management
- Responsible for overall facilities operations and project management.
- Manage facilities planning, budgets, and procurements.
- Manage and ensure the college adheres to the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Facilities requirements as listed within the Financial Accounting Manual.
- Accountable for the identification, management, and timely completion of facilities related projects.
- Prepare specifications for projects including oversight of consultants, architects, engineers and other service providers and ensure the needs of the college are met.
- Develop leases, assist with the negotiations, administration, and management of leases and leased property.
- Develop the capital master plan and long-range facility plan; submit required documents for project approvals.
- Prepare and submit WTCS documentation for project approval as required by State statute and the WTCS.
- Manage village, county, and state relations relating to facilities such as reporting for facilities planning, project approvals, environmental reporting, and related issues.
- Represent the college from a Facilities perspective within the college, community, state, and region including the WTCS Facilities Director’s group.
- Manage the relationship with the architect firm, etc. and be the liaison for staff during construction projects.
- Attend college events which require facilities support (graduation for example).
- Administer and manage department contracts.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Be available on-call as needed.
- Develop multi-year refresh/replacement schedules for various facility components.
- Participate in the Incident Management Team.
- Develop and manage the annual Facilities Department budget, providing justification when needed. Review and compare actual results to planned budgetary performance.
- Ensure the college adheres to internal and external safety, security, and risk-management requirements, including OSHA and accessibility standards.
- Oversee the campus security function, ensuring a strong program.
- Lead continuous improvement objectives related to safety audits, risk assessments, and business continuity planning.
- Manage responses to injury or accident reports and lead corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide support for insurance-related matters, including claims associated with property damage or safety incidents.
- Responsible for the direction, coordination, supervision, and performance management of team members.
- Set clear expectations by establishing roles, and responsibilities and setting goals for team members.
- Monitor and assess performance, holding team members accountable, and providing ongoing feedback.
- Provide guidance and support through training, mentoring, and open communication.
- Carry out managerial responsibilities by the College’s policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive college operations.
- Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise in a timely manner.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment encouraging teamwork, and recognizing achievements.
- Develop team members by identifying strengths, creating development plans, and offering growth opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related discipline required.
- Eight to nine years of relevant occupational experience, including a strong, demonstrated background project management and budgeting.
- Minimum of three to five years of demonstrated leadership experience required.
- Valid State of Wisconsin Driver’s License required.
