Position Summary: The Coordinator of Nursing Services advances the Lakes Region Mental Health Center mission through facilitating nursing efforts to ensure that effective patient care is being provided and that quality standards are met. Among the primary duties are evaluating the performance of staff assigned to the service, providing feedback and mentoring, developing education programs, contributing to staff professional development, interviewing and hiring all staff within the services and maintaining inventory of medicines and supplies. The Coordinator of Nursing Services promotes the best interests of staff and the patients they care for by maintaining He-M 1201 certification.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
1. Provides leadership and guidance for the entire agency regarding nursing services, positively impacting health outcomes for our patients.
2. Consistently demonstrates the ability to take the initiative and to make decisions/choices without direct supervision.
3. Ensure that staff are properly trained. Can work in a clinical setting per the Clinical Nurse job description.
4. Collaborate with management, interdisciplinary teams and other stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate programs and services.
5. Monitors patient care for quality by applying evidence-based health care practices and reviewing patient care and data to measure the effectiveness of patient care.
6. Is available for ongoing consultation to all staff for patients experiencing medical problems and/or access to health care.
7. Is available for urgent care appointments as determined by Prescribers.
8. Is available to provide support and services to patients in the community as needed.
9. Provides on-going assessment of scheduled patients concerning health problems, providing outreach services to patients when appropriate and deemed necessary.
10. Completes all clinical, medical and administrative documentation in a timely manner.
11. Sees patients at the request of the Prescriber
12. Has a working knowledge of agency programs where staff within the service perform their duties.
13. Encourages a foundation of trust across their team by fostering open dialogue.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Minimum of graduation from an accredited nursing program. MSN degree preferred or BSN with leadership experience.
License/Certification: Special certifications in psychiatric nursing preferred. An unencumbered RN license in NH. Certified or eligible for certification as a 1201 RN. 5 years’ experience with 3 years’ management experience is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are a must. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team required.
Physical Requirements:
· Able to sustain light physical effort such as frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping or reaching and/or occasional lifting of items 20 lbs. or more.
· Can tolerate periods of heavy workload or excessive stress.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that is unpredictable at times.
· Ability to walk long distances in the community, including using stairs, ramps, elevators and escalators as needed with clients.
Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
