Adjunct Instructor - Entrepreneurship

Lakeland University, a liberal arts institution, seeks qualified adjunct instructors to teach Entrepreneurship courses beginning in the spring, 2027 term.

BUS 230 Principles of Entrepreneurship - 3 semester credits (Course)

Course Description: This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the principles of entrepreneurship and the skills needed to identify and capitalize on opportunities for starting and growing a business. The course also provides students with the opportunity to work on their own entrepreneurial projects, allowing them to apply the concepts and strategies learned in the course to real-world situations.

Pre-requisite: None.

BUS 235 Entrepreneurship Studio - (Supervision)

Course Description: Entrepreneurship Studio is a dynamic, hands-on course designed for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to launch or grow their business ideas. Through interactive workshops and practical applications, participants learn to identify and engage their target customers, develop a product or service prototype, craft effective marketing strategies, and pitch their business to potential investors or partners. The course also covers essential administrative skills, including business incorporation, tax filing, and insurance basics. By the end of the course, participants are equipped with the tools, strategies, and confidence to take their ventures to the next level. Students may enroll in this course a maximum of two times for a total of 6 semester hours.

Pre-requisite: Instructor approval; a business idea or early-stage concept is required.

BUS 302 Corporate Innovation - 3 semester credits - (Course)

Course Description: Corporate Innovation is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to drive innovation and entrepreneurship within corporate environments. Students learn how to identify and prioritize opportunities for innovation, develop and test new ideas, and implement successful innovation strategies. The course also explores the challenges associated with innovation in corporate environments and provides practical solutions for overcoming these challenges.

Pre-requisite: BUS 150 - Pathways to Success: An Introduction to Business.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess, at minimum, a master's degree in business, extensive experience in setting up new businesses and entrepreneurship. The ideal candidate will have a terminal degree in business and have teaching experience in higher education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Teach undergraduate courses in entrepreneurship.
• Work with full-time faculty and deans to understand and employ activities that meet course learning objectives.
• Administer and/or develop coursework (assignments, projects, in-class learning activities, exams) that meets and assesses course learning objectives.
• Respond in a timely manner to calls or emails from students, colleagues, or supervisors.
• Use university technology as directed.
