Participates in a planned research project by performing research protocols. Works independently and self-directed while providing supervision and technical training to subordinates. Needs a specialized education in the biological sciences and is required to consistently exercise discretion and judgment in execution, interpretation of research, and of data derived.

• Plans and develops specific research protocols and procedures.
• Develops & troubleshooting new techniques and ideas.
• Composes processes and sets-up protocols accurately under the direction of investigator, modifies processes and protocols when required.
• Formulates and performs research procedures, which may involve moderate-level analyses and reports of the data.
• Presents & discusses work at meetings.
• Maintains any equipment, safety procedures and compliance records for research studies.
• Researches journal, white papers and other scientific publications for pertinent information.
• Assist in preparation of data for publication or presentation at national/international symposia.
Supervises junior members of team.
