Position Summary
Conducts performance reviews, assigns employees work, schedules time off, determines priority of work to be done. Oversees day-to-day operations for area of responsibility. Coaches and counsels employees toward performance improvement; disciplines when necessary. Has strong recommendation authority re: hires and terminations. May assist with budgeting. Uses discretionary judgment in the management of staff, customers and visitors. May provide staff education and training. Serves as key resource for staff in their day-to-day job duties. Identifies
and facilitates opportunities for improvement in the areas of quality care and services, stewardship, employee satisfaction, communication, accountability and customer satisfaction.
The position of Security Supervisor is responsible to work under the direct supervision of the Lead Security Officer and Director of Security while managing shift safety and security assignments thus providing a safe and secure environment for patients, families, guests, physicians, staff and property of LRH.

Licenses Essential: Ability to obtain Florida Security License upon employment
Valid State driver's license
Licenses Preferred: Class D Security License
Valid Florida Operator's License
Certifications Essential: Current Basic, Advanced or Supervisor Security Officer Certification from International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).
Certifications Preferred: Current Supervisor Certification from IAHSS or ability to obtain within six months of Supervisor appointment. Must maintain certification for duration of position or until obtaining CHPA. Obtain CHPA certification from IAHSS upon eligibility. FEMA: IS-100 HCb, IS-200 HCa, IS-00700.a, IS-800.b
Experience Essential: Three to five years of experience in healthcare security, law enforcement or military security with demonstrated progressive increase in responsibility.
One year or more supervisory experience.
Greater than five years of experience in healthcare security, law enforcement or military security.

- Standard Work Duties: Security Supervisor
- Perform, supervise, counsel, train, and evaluate the performance of staff members
- Coordinate preliminary investigation of all safety and security incidents Coordinate and complete follow-up investigations as assigned by the department director.
- Responsible for continuity in operations, service repair initiation, control and evaluation of all security equipment, including access control and CCTV electronic security equipment.
- Continually refines the quality of work and standard work for assigned shift and staff.
