Control Assemblies is seeking an Assembly / Test Operator to join our dynamic team in Plymouth, MN.
What You'll Do:
Assembly Operations (Primary Role):
- Assembles products and product components using their hands, equipment, and various tools under the guidance and direction of written instructions, their supervisor, and engineers. Requires the ability to hand solder components.
- Reads instructions and interprets drawings, when required.
- Loads components onto the line for use in assembly. Confirms proper parts are allocated and, working with their supervisor or engineers, suggests improvements to production build documents to resolve ambiguity or to correct errors.
- Visually inspects finished items to ensure they have been correctly assembled. This may include polishing items to remove fingerprints.
- Packages fully assembled and tested product prior to shipment.
Test Operations (As Needed):
- Conduct Product Inspection: inspects products prior to test for conformance to standards as guided by instructions, their supervisor and engineers,
- Conduct Product Tests: tests products using company-provided equipment under the guidance and direction of written instructions, their supervisor, and engineers before they are released on the market. These tests ensure that products are safe for use and free of any defects. Successful tests are recorded; exceptions and failures are recorded, tagged, and set aside for supervisor or engineer review.
- Maintains Test Equipment: tasked with calibrating, assembling, improving, and repairing test equipment as directed by their supervisor or engineer.
- Continual Improvement: understands device and test equipment operation and recommends improvements to test instructions when required.
What You'll Bring:
- Relevant experience in assembly and testing systems and a strong desire to learn
- Experience with or willing to learn test equipment and test software such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi-meters, computer programs.
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to project changes
- Strong organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written)
