Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our specialty surgery team in Gig Harbor, WA. What You'll Do:
Provide advanced anesthesia support for specialty surgical procedures, including developing individualized anesthetic plans, calculating and administering drugs, placing IV catheters, intubation, and utilizing multi-parameter monitoring equipment (ECG, capnography, blood pressure, SpO2, etc.)
Monitor and manage patients intraoperatively and postoperatively, adjusting anesthetic protocols as needed to ensure patient safety and comfort
Assist with complex surgical cases ranging from orthopedic to soft tissue procedures, supporting surgeons with sterile technique, instrument handling, and perioperative nursing care
Deliver high-level patient care before, during, and after surgery—preparing patients for anesthesia, advocating for pain management, and ensuring smooth recoveries
Collaborate closely with board-certified surgeons, emergency doctors, and a skilled technical team to deliver seamless, gold standard care
Educate and support colleagues by sharing knowledge, mentoring less experienced staff, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning
Uphold the highest standards of safety and compassion, ensuring every patient receives care guided by integrity, empathy, and innovation
What We're Looking For:
Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Washington (or eligible for reciprocity)
Minimum of 5 years anesthesia experience, with preference for those experienced in specialty or advanced surgical anesthesia
Proficiency in advanced anesthesia techniques, including drug calculations, patient monitoring, ventilator use, and pain management protocols
Strong technical skills and critical thinking abilities, with the confidence to anticipate surgical team needs and respond effectively in high-acuity cases
Detail-oriented and safety-focused, with a strong commitment to gold standard patient care from induction to recovery
Collaborative and team-oriented, thriving in an environment that values respect, communication, and shared learning
Compassionate and client-focused, understanding the importance of the human-animal bond and advocating for patients at every stage
Adaptable and eager to grow, open to continuous learning, professional development, and innovation in specialty veterinary medicine

Schedule:
Full-time, Sunday–Tuesday
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive pay: $33–$38/hour (based on experience)
$5,000 sign-on bonus
