Essential Job Functions
- Triage and assessment of cases - including alerting DVM of patients in critical conditions
- Perform diagnostic tests, sedate or anesthetized procedures, and outpatient treatments as directed by DVM
- Oversee and provide treatments & support to day-hospitalizations
- Provide support and education to pet owners
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Ability to positively collaborate with peers and team members in providing patient-centered care.
- Experience with ezyVet, SmartFlow, IDEXX laboratory equipment is preferred
- At least 3 years experience in an ER setting as a Veterinary Assistant.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills!
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure
- Confident in life saving procedures and CPR/BLS
- Strong/confident phlebotomy and venipuncture skills; advanced catheter and sampling line placement skills are a bonus!
- Assisting and monitoring of surgical and sedated procedures, including management of unstable patients. (Additional anesthesia training to be provided).
- Oregon Radiology Certification for Veterinary Professionals
- Starting: $20 per hour (based on experience) $5 differential between 10p-6a
