Dental Care Coordinator (Front Desk)
The Front Desk Care Coordinator performs a variety of tasks directly related to the greeting, checking in and scheduling of patient care. The patient visit experience will begin and perhaps end with the Front Desk Care Coordinator. The efficiency and productivity of the Dental team can be directly related to the Care Coordinator. Professionalism, accuracy and friendliness are of the utmost importance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responding to inbound patient calls, via phone or email
- Responsible for greeting and assisting patients the moment they enter a dental office.
- Make appointments for patients and maintain their accounts.
- Confirmation of patient appointments
- Assist with the coordination of the dentist's and hygienist's schedules
- Assist with billing and insurance concerns insurance companies.
- Receptionists also monitor a visitor's access to the office and collect mail.
- Most dental receptionists use a computerized filing system to organize patient records and keep them updated.
Required Qualifications
- A proven ability to communicate healthcare and financial information clearly and be resourceful in arriving at solutions that benefit both the patient and dental practice.
- High School Diploma at a minimum
Preferred Qualifications
- Dental office background
- Having a caring, friendly personality and professional appearance
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Fluency in a second language
