CAD Designer (Civil/Structural)
We are seeking a CAD Designer with experience supporting engineering and construction projects through 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and construction document development.
This role partners with engineers to deliver Issued for Bid (IFB) and Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing packages across Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical projects.

Lake Superior Consulting offers a competitive compensation package. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location. The anticipated salary/hourly range for this position is $27 – $35 per hour.

CAD Designer (Civil/Structural)
We are seeking a CAD Designer with experience supporting engineering and construction projects through 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and construction document development.
This role partners with engineers to deliver Issued for Bid (IFB) and Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing packages across Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Autodesk tools
- Produce construction documents, bid sets, and detailed design packages
- Create layouts, schematics, grading plans, and structural details
- Coordinate with engineering, design, and project teams
- Apply CAD standards, QA/QC processes, and drafting best practices
- Manage drawing revisions, redlines, and document control
- Support design calculations and technical problem-solving
- Associate degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural, or Engineering Technology (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of CAD drafting/design experience in a project-based environment
- Strong proficiency in civil and Structural 3D modeling
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plant 3D, or CADWorx
- Experience with:
- Site design and grading
- Construction drawings and plan sets
- Structural detailing (steel and/or concrete)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience in oil & gas, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of survey data processing
- Familiarity with multi-discipline project coordination
