This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for a current student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to the success of Lake Sumter State College. The Student Assistant will provide essential support, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure efficient operation of departmental activities.
This is an on-call position with flexible scheduling depending on the sporting event schedule. Hours worked vary but will not exceed 25 hrs. any given week.

- Operate scoreboard equipment and game-day production elements.
- Provide live play-by-play and color commentary for various athletic events, including pre-game, in-game, and post-game analysis.
- Research teams, players, and relevant game statistics to provide accurate and insightful commentary during the broadcast.
- Work collaboratively with the production team, including the director and camera operators, to ensure a smooth and professional broadcast.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of broadcasting equipment, including microphones, headphones, and other audio gear.
- Maintain a professional and impartial demeanor, providing balanced commentary while representing the team or school in a positive light.
- Contribute to social media efforts or other promotional content related to the broadcasts.Â
