The Registrar is responsible for overseeing all operations of the Registrar's Office, including the Prior Learning Assessment Office, and for the effective management of student records from admission to graduation. This role ensures the efficient and accurate handling of student records from registration through to graduation. The Registrar serves as the point of contact for all inquiries related to student data in the Student Information System, ensures compliance with accreditation requirements, and acts as the FERPA Compliance Officer. Occasional night or weekend responsibilities may be required for urgent matters concerning student records or system issues

Responsible for demonstrating LSSC's core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating when interacting with students, employees, visitors, and community members.

Include, But Are Not Limited To The Following

  • Direct and supervise daily operations of the Registrar's Office, including student registration, degree audits, transcript evaluations, state/federal reporting, grade reporting.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration with Admissions and Enrollment Services.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Registrar's Office staff, ensuring a motivated and unified team.
  • Manage staff priorities to provide efficient, responsive, and student-centered services.
  • Oversee the registration process and transfer evaluation practices across all campuses.
  • Collaborate with IT to monitor and implement system functionalities, ensuring efficient operation of the Student Information System (SIS).
  • Manage the degree conferral process, including degree posting, honors determination, and diploma issuance.
  • Supervise the preparation and certification of transcripts and enrollment certifications.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all student academic records through audits and data management.
  • Serve as the FERPA Compliance Officer and ensure adherence to all state and federal regulations concerning student records.
  • Manage the archival process for all student records and ensure proper data uploads to the National Student Clearinghouse.
  • Collaborate with Academic Affairs to ensure compliance with accreditation requirements and curriculum updates.
  • Supervise the College's Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) office, including policy and procedure development.
  • Ensure the proper application of PLA credit methods and conduct outreach to prospective and current students.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of the College's Catalog and Student Handbook.
  • Review requests for access to student data in the SIS and perform annual security audits.
  • Supervise public records requests and subpoenas related to student records.
  • Oversee the Registrar's Office budget, capital equipment, and technology requests.
  • Lead departmental strategic planning, assessments, and program review processes.
  • Contribute to College-wide accreditation.
  • Co-chair the Commencement workgroup and oversee communications related to the Registrar's Office.
  • Serve on various college-wide committees, councils, and workgroups.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to student records and registration, including FERPA.
  • Skilled in utilizing BANNER, LSSC's student information system.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement technological improvements aligned with best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data-driven decision-making.
  • Promotes a common purpose aligned with the College's goals and demonstrates a commitment to students and the learning environment.
  • Possesses knowledge of general written standards and procedures, with the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manuals related to job responsibilities.

  • Required:
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five (5) years direct experience working in Enrollment Management, Academic Advising, Dual Enrollment, or related area at a regionally accredited institution.
  • Evidence of proven organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Proven experience in problem solving and analytics. demonstrated experience with baccalaureate programs; and demonstrated experience with lower level and upper-level credit articulation.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Ellucian's Banner and Degree works, or related systems and software.

Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
