Lake Regional Health System is looking for an outgoing, professional Health Unit Coordinator (HUC). Lake Regional offers a wide range of employment opportunities in our community.
The Health Unit Coordinator provides administrative support for the unit by answering the phones, scanning patient information, and assisting nursing staff, medical staff, patients, families, visitors, and all other hospital departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and respectfully, demonstrating compassion
- Take all nurse inbound calls to triage the patient and schedule the patient’s appointment.
- Help with work quality reports and schedule accordingly
- Complete all refills and all prior authorizations
- Respond in a timely manner and keep patients informed while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all privacy and protected health regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A high school diploma or an equivalent is required.
- This position requires excellent customer service skills.
- Must be a team player and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Annual influenza vaccines required
