Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Wound Care Center (76051)

The purpose of this position is to provide nursing care to patients and support services to the licensed personnel. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)  has contact with patients, patient families and visitors, hospital employees, volunteers, administration, and physicians. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position. The CNA will take direction from licensed personnel and work cooperatively with others, exercising initiative and judgement.

Duties for the Wound Care Center (WCC) CNA include but are not limited to: 

• Assists the RN and/or LPN in the delivery of individualized patient care
• Room patients per WCC policy/competency
• Observe patient's condition and respond to patient needs.
• Undress wounds/ prepare wound area for provider/RN to evaluate
• Reports significant changes to the RN immediately.
• Performs functions delegated by the RN/LPN.
• Performs nursing assistant duties, including but not limited to:
  • Patient transfers/ambulation
  • Bringing patients to and assisting them in the bathroom
  • Blood glucose checks as needed
  • Helping patients with ADLs 
  • Vital signs

Hours/Shifts
64-72 hours biweekly with day shifts Monday to Friday.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $18.30-23.42/hour. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

1. Education/Special Skills: Upon hire, must be registered as a CNA with the Minnesota registry or registry eligible. During employment, must be on the MN Nursing Registry within 1 year of working as a CNA. MN Nursing registry renewals must be verified as active 6 months from expiration date. This position requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
2. Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
3. Must be able to attend the work site per schedule.
