What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse position at Lake Region Corporation?
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with some on call
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work hours assigned.
2. Provide staff training and coaching necessary to assure identified health services and supports are implemented consistently and correctly. Continuously monitor and document health information.
3. Monitor staff’s status regarding medication certification/recertification. Assist with observations of medication administration/med passes.
4. Perform AIMS screening for people on psychotropic medications.
5. Visit and evaluate individuals and their environments when changes in health occur. Report to proper medical authorities any suspected disease or infections.
6. Provide in coordination with Program Coordinators a comprehensive system for review, documentation, and follow-up of psychiatric appointments and psychotropic medication usage.
7. Act as a liaison with community medical personnel and other service providers to assure continuity of care and promote public relations. Assist people to follow recommendations received at medical appointments.
8. Update non-dispensing pharmacy records annually.
9. Evaluate medication response profiles monthly.
Attend meetings, in-services, and workshops as appropriate and approved. Serve on agency committees as assigned.
Requirements:Essential Requirements:
A. Graduate of approved school of nursing with current ND nursing license.
B. Valid driver’s license required.
C. Computer experience preferred.
D. Certification in developmental disabilities preferred. Must be willing to meet certification requirements for the position.
E. Must be able to perform CPR, AED, First Aid upon certification.
F. Must be able to implement Therapeutic Response Techniques.
G. Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and lift 10 lbs. overhead.
H. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat frequently throughout shift.
