What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping position at Lake Park Center?
The housekeeping aide provides a clean and sanitary environment for staff and consumers using proper policies and procedures.
1. Wet mops consumer rooms and bathrooms daily.
2. Uses “Wet Floor” signs and other cautions as indicated.
3. Dusts in assigned work areas.
4. Cleans draperies and privacy curtains.
5. Cleans consumer beds and closets per schedule.
6. Sanitizes consumer unit using proper policies and procedures.
7. Washes windows and mirrors per schedule.
8. Labels all compounds and chemicals properly and stores them in locked storage areas.
9. Follows user directions for all compounds and chemicals.
10. Uses proper body mechanics
11. Follows proper infection control practices.
12. Follows proper hand washing practices.
13. Washes walls and ceilings.
14. Keeps ash trays and wastebaskets emptied.
15. Adheres to cleaning duties and schedule for area assigned.
16. Disposes of garbage safely, promptly, and in a sanitary manner.
17. Reports promptly any indication of rodents and other pests.
18. Maintains clean storage area.
19. Stores cleaning rags in closed metal containers.
20. Observes for consumer safety when in consumer care areas.
21. Maintains fire aisles when using cleaning cart.
22. Observes, reports, and intervenes in potential fire/safety hazards.
23. Treats consumers and staff with respect and dignity.
24. Adheres to all facility and department safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:This position will be responsible for buffing, stripping and waxing floors.
- No convictions for abuse, neglect or mistreatment or for misappropriation of property.
- Prompt and regular attendance.
- Ability to read, write and make simple calculations and follow oral and written directions.
- Knowledge of principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in handling housekeeping tasks and equipment.
The hours are 9:30am to 6pm with rotating weekends.
