Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Associate Veterinarian role based in Frankston, TX. The Associate Veterinarian will perform routine and advanced medical care, including wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnostics, dentistry, and soft-tissue surgery. Daily responsibilities include examining patients, interpreting laboratory and imaging results, developing treatment plans, and documenting medical records accurately and promptly. The role also involves communicating clearly with clients about diagnoses, treatment options, preventive care, and follow-up recommendations. The Associate Veterinarian will collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff, contribute to a positive team culture, and help maintain a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment. Participation in occasional after-hours or weekend shifts may be required depending on practice needs.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution and eligibility for licensure in the state of Texas.
- Proficiency in small animal general practice, including wellness care, internal medicine, dentistry, and routine soft-tissue surgery.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic tests such as bloodwork, urinalysis, radiography, and other imaging modalities.
- Strong client communication skills, including the ability to explain medical conditions and care plans in clear, accessible language.
- Commitment to low-stress animal handling, patient safety, and high standards of medical care.
- Capacity to work effectively within a team-based environment and to mentor or support veterinary technicians and assistants.
- Organizational skills to manage a varied caseload, maintain accurate medical records, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and stay current with advances in veterinary medicine and best practices.
- Experience in a small animal clinical setting is preferred; new graduates with strong clinical skills and a desire to learn are also encouraged to apply.
